The purpose of the research study is to see whether the Mindfulness-Based College program for young adults improves the mental health and well-being of emerging adults aged 18 to 29 years old.
Participants have the opportunity to learn mindfulness meditation, mindful movement, as well as applying mindful skills training to improve participants diet, physical activity, sleep, stress recovery, cognitive performance, and social relationships
No, in fact, we will pay you. If eligible, you will be given a $50 gift card for each of the online assessments you complete (up to $100 in total).
The next scheduled round of MBC will start up in February 2021. We invite interested young adults to go through the online screener to find out more.
The program consists of 9 weekly sessions that are up to 2.5 hours and an all-day weekend retreat. Research participation includes two online health assessments completed at baseline and 3 months follow up. Participants will receive $50 gift cards for each online assessment completed (i.e. up to $100 total).
To be eligible, you must be 18-29 years old, residing in the United States, not have a current regular mindfulness meditation practice, and qualify based on an online screening assessment. This is a randomized controlled trial, so if eligible, you will be randomly selected to either take one of the two mindfulness classes offered this fall or you will be invited to take part in next semester's mindfulness class.

For more information, or to see if you qualify fill out our 3-5 minute anonymous online screener or email us at mindfulness@brown.edu if you have questions.
